FANY SOLTER
Born in lhéus, Brazil, she begun her studies at the Conservatório de Música Brasileiro do Rio de Janeiro (Brazilian Music Conservatory – Rio de Janeiro) and in the Seminários da Pró-Arte (Pró-Arte Seminaries) with Homero Magalhães. She perfected in Germany under guidance of the pianist Carl Seeman, and earned her degree from the Hochschule für Musik Freiburg. Prize winner of several international competions such as Munich and Vercelli, she performs actively as a soloist and a camerist in many countries of Europe, and in concerts with orchestras such as the Prague Symphony Ochestra, Brazilian Symphony Orchestra, Suisse Romande Orchestra, Bavarian Radio Symphony Orchestra, Israel Camerata in Jerusalem, Chamber Philharmonic of Poland, under conductors as Kurt Masur, Lukas Foss, Avner Biron, Vaclav Smetacek, Werner Stiefel, Wojciek Raisky, Ligia Amadio, Kurt Redel, among others.
Since 1976 Fany Solter has been a professor at the Hochschule für Musik Karlsruhe, Germany, wher she was the Dean from 1984 through 2001.
Fany Solter has performed in recitals and master classes in Japan, Israel, Russia, Poland, Italy, Spain, Estonia, Argentina and Brazil. In recent years she has been a jury member of international piano competitions in Geneva, Brussels, Luxembourg, Valencia and Tokyo. She records regularly for the German radios of Stuttgart, Baden-Baden, Berlin and Cologne, among others, alongside her CD recordings including the complete chamber music works by Frédéric Chopin.
